On a beautiful, June Friday night, Jimmy Wright of STAR 102.5 took his Weekend Kick-Off Show to the Fareway in Clive to give STAR 102.5 listeners the chance to win the hottest tickets in all the land: Taylor Swift in Kansas City!

Upon arrival, Jimmy was greeted by a line of Swifties already stretching down the sidewalk, in hopes to be the first ones to get their names in the running to win! For the next two hours, Jimmy and the rest of the STAR 102.5 on-air staff, including Karess, Tawinee, and Kurt, registered nearly 500 fans in the drawing to win. We saw homemade t-shirts, Taylor bracelets, and in-between bites of free Northern Lights Pizza, heard stories about past Taylor concerts.

When the magic moment came, it was Dan Hill of West Des Moines winning our Taylor Swift tickets. The air was filled with celebration, a few tears, and the hopeful question, “Are you going to be giving out any more tickets?”
